Since 2023, he has served as the Penang State Assemblyman for Pulau Tikus. He also sits on the boards of four state-linked organisations: Penang Hill Corporation, Penang Youth Development Corporation, Penang Infrastructure Corporation and Penang Agrotech, alongside his role as Publicity Secretary of DAP Penang.
His areas of expertise include transit-oriented development, AI and policymaking, and strategic communication. His policy monograph, A Transit-Oriented Development Framework Needed to Maximise the Impact of Penang's Mutiara LRT Line, was published by Penang Institute in September 2026.
His approach to policymaking emphasises practical implementation. Working with the Penang Island City Council, he helped resolve a decade-old traffic bottleneck on Jalan Burma through coordinated traffic-management measures.
Beyond public service, he founded a strategic communication startup serving brands, SMEs and multinational companies, applying communication strategy to business growth, stakeholder engagement and public perception.
Before entering elected office, he held roles in corporate communications, infrastructure policy and local government. His professional journey has also taken him across Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, broadening his perspectives on leadership, institutions and society.
He holds a Master in Sustainable Development Management from Sunway University and a Master of Communication from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
He is also the author of The Two Anxieties: Why Success Isn't Enough and How to Feel Alive (2026), introducing Existential Realism, a philosophical framework exploring how people navigate economic insecurity, personal aspirations and the search for meaning in modern life.
Across policymaking, entrepreneurship and philosophy, his work explores how society can build better cities, stronger institutions and more meaningful lives.
